hmm i really really hate being patronised like almost nothing makes me angrier so i really love it when teachers treat me as a peer like it’s not like you have to be my best friend just say hi to me in the hallways you know at least pretend to be interested in what i’m saying to you stop making me feel young and dumb every time i approach you just cos you’re a teacher now doesn’t mean everyone that’s not a teacher is below you jesus you’re only 23
my life would be so boring if i didn’t treat my students as equals. i love it when they tell me who they think is handsome in the other classes or come up and joke around with me about music and dancing or just ask me where i’m going when walking through the halls.
to be fair tho…some young teachers just want to protect themselves. i don’t have to worry about rumors of affairs with students or getting too chummy and loosing respect because that isn’t an issue here…and as the white lady i’m already set apart.
