i think it is a bit of both. i have a bunch of foreigner friends that haven’t gotten it quite as intensely as i have. i had one of the teacher trainers give a “they only like you because you are white” warning to the girls. i don’t mind that boys are initially attracted to me because i am white. it is the same as guys back home coming up to me because they like my hair or my eyes or something else superficial. there are some thai boys that just want to say they got it on with a white lady…but i can tell who those are…and i avoid them. the other ones wouldn’t stick around…or…you know…offer to move across the country for me…if they just liked me because i’m white. i kind of wish i could experience thai boys as a thai lady one night just to know how differently they act.
